Iconic Turn
Images are more present than ever. Photography, mass media and computer technology have eminently increased the impact of images on culture, society and science.
This increased impact of images is what the Iconic Turn lecture series (Felix Burda Memorial Lectures) was about for four semesters. Speakers were renowned scientists form the fields of the arts and art history, philosophy and history of the media, brain research, mathematics and physics, nanotechnology and artificial intelligence but also experts working with image production, visualization and design:
